Webinar: Disciplinary Differences: Generative AI in the Research and Publication Process

Originally presented April 23, 2025

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has exploded onto the scene, leaving librarians scrambling to keep up with the latest news and use cases. Some academic disciplines have incorporated GenAI quickly, and others have written it off altogether, creating inconsistencies across the academic landscape. Understanding disciplinary differences in GenAI use and how these differences impact publication is a critical step in contextualizing and understanding recent sources.

In this webinar, assistant managing editor of Library Trends, Evan Allgood, will provide an overview of how GenAI has impacted different academic disciplines, a deep dive into how GenAI has changed the publishing process, and a set of resources to help your patrons understand this ever-changing landscape.
