Sometimes, even the most experienced instructional designers feel like the “tail is wagging the dog” when it comes to creating high quality eLearning experiences. Rapidly evolving technology, challenging deadlines, constrained budgets, and overwhelming subject matter input can make it difficult to stay focused on the needs of the audience and their learning. Designers need a practical and iterative process with learners at the center to ensure their online experiences engage learners and accomplish the intended outcomes.
In this webinar, Bethany Simunich, Andrea Gregg, and Penny Ralston-Berg talk about The High Impact Design for Online Courses (HIDOC) - the course design model purpose-built for online modalities. Steps include (1) learner analysis, (2) learning outcomes, (3) course structure, (4) learning activities, (5) content and materials, (6) technology & tools, (7) learner support, and (8) continuous improvement. The discussion of each step will include a brief description, practical examples, and accompanying design documents and worksheets. Audience members should be able to apply the steps in their specific contexts.
This webinar is relevant for anyone who works in course design - whether in corporate, academic, or other contexts.
