Engaging and connecting with online learners poses unique opportunities and challenges for librarians, instructional designers and other information professionals. Without a physical classroom or ready-made learning community, online learners must critically analyze and relate instructional content to real-life practice on their own.
In this one-hour webinar, Christina Mune will explain essential concepts of online instruction including
- creating content that emphasizes practical applications,
- helping learners to quickly connect concepts across platforms or disciplines,
- and providing virtual peer-to-peer learning experiences.
These are just a few ways we can better support online learners. This webinar offers research-based best practices, tips, and tricks for designing and delivering effective content for online learners including library tutorials, virtual information literacy instruction, and online reference services.
