About Melissa & Laura
Melissa Wong is an adjunct instructor in the School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she teaches courses on instruction and e-learning. An experienced instructional designer, she also consults for companies and educational institutions. Her work focuses on learner-centered design, online course development (synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid), and accessibility.
Laura Saunders is a Professor at Simmons University School of Library and Information Science. Her teaching and research focus on the areas of information literacy including mis- and disinformation, reference services, and academic libraries. She also teaches a course on intellectual freedom and censorship.
Laura and Melissa’s books include Reference and Information Services: An Introduction, 6th edition, and the open access textbook Instruction in Libraries and Information Settings: An Introduction.
