About Carrie and Gene
Carrie Rogers-Whitehead is the founder of Digital Respons-Ability, a mission-based company that has taught tens of thousands of parents, students, and educators around the world. Carrie is an adjunct instructor, former librarian, and regularly consults and trains on technology, online safety, education, parenting, and more. She is an award-winning author of seven books, most recently Deepening Digital Citizenship: A Guide to Systemwide Policy and Practice. Carrie lives with her family in Utah.
Gene Ballard: As Kajeet’s Director of Product Strategy, Gene is responsible for developing and executing a long-term product strategy including product research, development and life cycle management. He brings products and solutions to the market that solve real world challenges faced by K-12 leaders. Gene has a particular passion for K-12 transportation technologies which culminates in Kajeet’s SmartBus vision of the Connected School Bus. Prior to Kajeet, Gene held sales and engineering leadership roles at Sprint/Nextel and T-Mobile. He holds a BS in Business/Economics from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as well as engineering certifications across multiple technology platforms.
